Poland’s Roman Catholic Church asks Vatican to investigate sex abuse spanning decades

  Archbishop Wojciech Polak, the head of Poland’s Roman Catholic Church,  is asking the Vatican to investigate the cover-up of child sexual abuse by priests after the release of a documentary on the subject this weekend. The film is about the story of two brothers who want to confront a priest who allegedly abused them when they were children. The Vatican is expected to assign an investigator to the case. Priest removed from post due to his popular blog condemning Church handling of Sex Abuse Scandal

A Virginia Priest who was Virginia a blog that criticized the Catholic Church’s handling of sex abuse scandal has bee removed from his post. Reverend mark White who wrote a blog that reached over a million readers was removed fro this post  as  the priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsville and St. Francis of Assisi in Rocky Mount. New York’s Child Victims Act Window Opens on August 14th!

The Child Victims Act Window Opens on August 14th! On August 14th, a one-year, one-time-only period will begin to allow all victims of childhood sexual abuse in New York to seek civil action, regardless of how old the victim is or how long ago the abuse occurred. New York Passes Child Victims Act

After years of a hard fought battle, survivors of sexual abuse in New York have finally won. For the first time, those who were sexually abused long ago will finally have a voice. On Monday, New York legislature passed the Child Victims Act that will allow survivors to seek civil justice until age 55, from what was previously cut off at age 23. Iowa priest on administrative leave after child sexual abuse allegation

An Iowa priest has been put on administrative leave and faces removal from priesthood after a church committee found credible evidence of child sexual abuse. According to the Des Moines Register, church officials with the Diocese of Greater Des Moines are keeping secret details of the sexual abuse allegations against 62-year-old Rev. Howard Fitzgerald.

HMH, P.A. Gains First Amendment Victory

In a case of first impresstion, an Arkansas Judge recently rejected the Diocese of Little Rock’s claim that the First Amendment prevents an adult parishioner from bringing a negligent claim against the Diocese where the victim was sexually exploited by her priest, Father Charles Kanu, during counseling sessions.
