Woman suing Archdiocese of Vancouver claiming decades of cover up of children sexually abused by clergy

  A woman is suing the Archdiocese of Vancouver, claiming she was sexually assaulted years ago by Father Michael Conaghan as a child at St. Francis of Assisi School, a Catholic elementary school in Vancouver. The Archdiocese is accused of covering up systemic abuse by priests, bishops and other members of its clergy, dating back decades. In some instances, there was alleged forcing of victims to be silent . Former Priests and Teacher at McQuaid Jesuit High School accused of sexually abusing students in the 1970’s/80’s

Former students at McQuaid Jesuit High School have come forward to claim that a former teacher and two former Jesuit priests sexually abused them when they were students in the 1970s and 1980s. Documentary exposes Cover up of Clergy sex abuse of minors

  Archbishop Wojciech Polak, the head of Poland’s Roman Catholic Church has said he is asking the Vatican to investigate the cover-up of child sexual abuse by priests following the release of a documentary on the subject on Saturday. The film tells the story of two brothers who try to confront a priest who allegedly abused them when they were children. The Vatican is expected to assign an investigator to the case. Archdiocese of Pittsburgh accused of not reporting sexual abuse

  A lawsuit was filed  in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court  that accuses the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh and co-defendant Bishop David Zubik of “protecting child sexual abusers” because they refused to provide the information to help identify the three priests that were accused of sexually abusing a New Hampshire man.  The plaintiff, now 62, claims he faced years of sexual assault starting in the 1960’s -early 70’s at the hands of priests, which began when he was just 7 or 8 years old and a student at St. Colman’s Catholic School in Turtle Creek. High Court Overturns sex abuse conviction of High Ranking Catholic Official Cardinal Pell

Australia’s High Court unanimously overturned the conviction of Cardinal George Pell and he has been freed from prison. Pell had been convicted of five counts of historical child sex abuse. Yesterday,  Chief Justice Susan Kiefel, after a five-year legal battle, put an end to what began when a man in his 30s approached police and accused Cardinal Pell of sexually abusing him as a child in the mid-1990s. Syracuse diocese pays victims of 4 priests not on sex abuse list

According to Syracuse.com, the Catholic Diocese of Syracuse paid settlements to four victims of priests who have not been publicly named to a list of child sex abusers. The diocese said it previously did not have enough information to act on claims against four priests. The four accusers, however, were among 88 people the diocese invited to participate in an independent compensation program, which found they deserved to be paid settlements. Protesters demand Diocese of Rockville Centre release list of accused priests

According to Newsday, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests organized the event after the diocese said it would not publish a list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse. Advocates for clergy sex abuse victims protested Thursday outside St. Agnes Cathedral, demanding that the Diocese of Rockville Centre release a list of credibly accused clergy.
