Cardinal Pell accuses Catholic Church of mishandling sex abuse allegations and called it a “Cancer” that haunts him

Cardinal Pells squashed conviction spurs demand for change in the Legal system

An Australian Lawyer, a victim of sexual abuse herself, is spearheading calls for change after the High Court quashed Cardinal George Pell’s convictions of child sexual abuse on Tuesday. High Court Overturns sex abuse conviction of High Ranking Catholic Official Cardinal Pell

Australia’s High Court unanimously overturned the conviction of Cardinal George Pell and he has been freed from prison. Pell had been convicted of five counts of historical child sex abuse. Yesterday,  Chief Justice Susan Kiefel, after a five-year legal battle, put an end to what began when a man in his 30s approached police and accused Cardinal Pell of sexually abusing him as a child in the mid-1990s. Cardinal George Pell : court still reserves ruling on Church’s longest ongoing case

  Australia’s highest court will deliver its ruling next week on whether to overturn the convictions of Cardinal George Pell, the most senior Catholic convicted of child sex abuse. Cardinal George Pell is currently serving a six year jail sentence for abusing two boys in the 1990’s at the  Melbourne Cathedral.
