Former “Teacher of the Week” Arrested for Child Molestation

Jan 22, 2018 - News, Schools by

West Palm Beach, FL – Terrence Gervin Dwarika, a former music teacher, will remain on house arrest until trial after he was arrested earlier this month for lewd and lascivious molestation of two male students.

The victims were students of Dwarika’s at Trinity Christian School in Palm Beach Gardens where he taught private music lessons after school.  Police received a complaint from the mother of two young boys after an outing her sons had with Dwarika on December 26.

The outing was intended to be a shopping trip to buy the boys Christmas gifts.  Instead, Dwarika took the boys to his home.  The older sibling told the mother that he saw Dwarika kissing the younger boy.  According to WPBF, the children told Dwarika that their mother would not approve of what he did, but the music teacher told the children to keep it a secret.  Additionally, the younger boy told his mother that Dwarika would touch him inappropriately in the music room at school.

It is unclear if there are other victims.  Prior to teaching at Trinity Christian School, Dwarika worked for Baldwin-Peck Prep School in North Palm Beach where he was awarded the “Teacher of the Week” award in 2005.
