Rev. Msgr. Antoine Attea, now deceased, named in lawsuit accusing him of child sex abuse decades ago.

Rev. Msgr. Antoine Attea,  a  former Jamestown pastor, has been named in a lawsuit under the Child Victims Act. Attea died in a 2007 plane crash at Chautauqua County Airport. The lawsuit, filed in Erie County, claims that the Rev. Msgr. Antoine Attea abused a male victim, a young boy at the time, while serving at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Jamestown. 13 victims of child sex abuse sue Devereux Behavioral Health for negligence staff abuse

Thirteen adult survivors of childhood sex abuse are now  suing Devereux Behavioral Health, alleging the nonprofit knew about, yet failed to stop the sex abuse. The victims claim that the staff knew about the sexual  misconduct that was going on and did nothing to stop it or help the children. The victims, all minors at the time of abuse,  some as young as 8 when the alleged abuse took place, remained  anonymous  in the complaint to protect their privacy.  The abuse occurred during the 10  year period of  2004 – 2014. Archdiocese of New Orleans removes two priests under sexual abuse allegations

Two priests have been removed from its ministry at the Archdiocese of New Orleans as of yesterday, due to allegations of child sex abuse.  Reverend Patrick Wattigny was accused of  sexually abusing  a child back  in 2013. His name will be added to the list of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Clergy Abuse Report. The second priest, Reverend Travis Clark, was accused of obscenity with women, an although his  charge  is not related to sexually abusing  a minor, his conduct ws not tolerated. Fr. Diocese of Rockville Center files bankruptcy; won’t stop victims from having a voice

The Diocese of Rockville Centre on Long Island, a Roman Catholic diocese in suburban New York filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday. The Diocese of Rockville Centre had been accused of sexual abuse allegations against children and named in over 200 lawsuits. Jerry William Zweitzig, former Pastor at Horsham Bible Church guilty for child rape and pornography of babies and young children

  A former pastor from Hatboro  was charged with sexually abusing an infant and young girl and recording himself doing so. The perpetrator, Jerry William Zweitzig, 72, was sentenced to 200 years in a federal penitentiary and will most likely will spend the rest of his life in prison. His  charges  include manufacturing of child pornography. Joseph Comperchio, former Catholic school teacher, accused of sexually abusing students 40 years ago

Joseph Comperchio, a former Michigan Catholic school teacher,  has been accused of child sex abuse dating back 40 years ago.   Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office has been conducting an ongoing investigation  into clergy abuse. George DeCosta, Former Priest, accused of sex abuse at Music Ministry Alive Music camp

John C. Sapp Jr., Church Youth Leader, indicted on multiple counts of child sex abuse

  John C. Sapp Jr., the 34-year-old lead pastor at  Maranatha Fellowship church,  has been indicted on 89 charges after he allegedly had sexual relationships with two teenage girls who were members of a church youth group. Sapp Jr. had  been leading the youth group for the past three years. most of the sexual encounters took place in the church and church youth group outings.  According to court documents, Sapp was at his house with his wife when he confessed to “inappropriately touching” a girl. Woman suing Archdiocese of Vancouver claiming decades of cover up of children sexually abused by clergy

  A woman is suing the Archdiocese of Vancouver, claiming she was sexually assaulted years ago by Father Michael Conaghan as a child at St. Francis of Assisi School, a Catholic elementary school in Vancouver. The Archdiocese is accused of covering up systemic abuse by priests, bishops and other members of its clergy, dating back decades. Henry Kolakoski, former teacher at Columbia High School, accused of sexually abusing students in the 1980’s

Henry Kolakoski, a former teacher at Columbia High School until 2007, is accused of sexually abusing a student when he was the victim’s social studies teacher in the 1980’s. In the lawsuit against East Greenbush Central School District,  officials are accused of allegedly knowing about the abuse and still allowed a sexual predator to teach at the school.
