Ex-priest who got teen pregnant can keep job as middle school teacher

According to the New York Post, a New Jersey teacher who once had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl and got her pregnant — all while he was a Catholic priest — can keep his middle-school job, an arbitrator ruled. Former Rev. Joseph DeShan, 59, began teaching in the Cinnaminson school district in 1996 — six years after he impregnated the teen, who worked in his parish rectory in Bridgeport, Conn., the state ruling said. Ex-teacher charged in sex assault of six girls to face trial

A former first-grade teacher in Nebraska who prosecutors say admitted to sexually abusing six girls has waived his preliminary hearing and will head to trial, according to reports. Gregory Sedlacek, a 30-year-old former teacher at Fontenelle Elementary School, stood before a judge on Wednesday in Omaha, where he waived his preliminary hearing in connection with six counts of first-degree sexual assault on a child and one count of third-degree sexual assault on a child, KETV reports. Ex-Teacher Convicted After Inappropriate Relationship with Student Denies Being the Aggressor

Bernardo Osorio was a math teacher at Miami’s Cutler Bay Senior High School in 2017 when he admitted to a sexual relationship with an underage student. In a 2017 interview with Miami-Dade Schools Police, Osorio said the student performed oral sex on him at least three times, twice at the school. According to police records, Osorio preyed on a vulnerable student who had lost his father just months before the abuse began. The student says he was 16 when the abuse occurred. Report Alleges Sexual Misconduct at Saint Ann’s, Prestigious Brooklyn Private School

A yearlong investigation has found allegations of sexual misconduct, including male teachers having sex with students, at Saint Ann’s School, a Brooklyn private school known for its experimental educational approach and artistic culture.
