A National Law Firm for Victims of Sexual Abuse, Handling cases across the Country

Herman Law has attorneys who are admitted in NY, FL and the California bar (see lawyer bios ). This allows the Herman Law attorneys, if they are not already admitted to the court, to apply to appear as attorneys of record in all 50 States of the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as all Federal District Courts, by requesting that the judge presiding over a case permit them to appear Pro Hac Vice (“for this occasion only”).

Often we do this in association with a knowledgeable local attorney in that jurisdiction who provides insight into local legal custom and practice and assists in the logistics for matters in that jurisdiction.

Mark Rozzi pitches another push for retroactive reform to child sex crimes

By Ivey DeJesus idejesus@pennlive.comIn all the years that Rep. Mark Rozzi has been fighting to reform state child sex crimes laws, he has excoriated the power brokers for the Roman Catholic Church for pushing back on any reform legislation. On Tuesday, just weeks away from the release of the findings of a state probe into clergy sex abuse across Pennsylvania, Rozzi once again called for measures to expand the law, this time noting that: “Child sex abuse is not just a Catholic problem.” At a Capitol rally, Rozzi invited victims, survivors and relatives of victims from across the dark specter of child sex […]

Operator of Day Care Targeted in Police Raid Previously Under Fire for Abusive Behavior

A day care worker at Minnieland Academy in Bristow, Virginia, Taylor Boykin, was arrested last week after being accused of sexually assaulting four children over the course of a year. A raid was executed at that facility, but recent reports have surfaced that the issue may not be contained to this location. Sex-abusing neurologist’s patients: No justice in Philly

Patients of a neurologist already facing rape charges in New York and New Jersey say law enforcement officials in Philadelphia are burying nearly identical accusations against him, angering and perplexing women who say they’re being victimized twice — first by their doctor, now by a big-city justice system that won’t hold him accountable. A slew of patients who accuse Dr. Ricardo Cruciani of sexual misconduct in Philadelphia have yet to see authorities pursue a felony case against him, even after police in New York City and New Jersey investigated their claims and swiftly filed charges that could put him away […]

Jeff Herman, Esq. writes about Comedy and Tragedy: The Downfall of Bill Cosby, America’s Dad

I hear this response all the time, and it is my honor to help survivors seek their own justice.  My work is exclusively civil – I do not handle the criminal prosecution of sex offenders where the end result is a restriction of liberty, most often jail time. Instead, I use my skills in civil litigation, often bringing lawsuits alleging negligence, against the institutions that employ sexual perpetrators that had a duty to protect their clients from these dangerous members of the community. . The bad news, however, is that there is more work to be done. Undertones of “rape […]
