New Jersey law brings new child sex abuse suits against Catholic Church

(NEW YORK POST) A new law that lifts the statute of limitations for adult survivors of child sex abuse in New Jersey went into effect Sunday — opening the floodgates for lawsuits against powerful institutions and predators. Former Our Lady of Mount Carmel students accuse old basketball coach of sexual abuse

(NEWS 12 – Bronx, NY) Five former students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel have filed lawsuits against the school and the Archdiocese of New York. The students claim that former basketball coach Rudy Tremaroli sexually abused them over the span of 15 years. Tremaroli is now dead. They also claim that school administrators and religious leaders failed to act when notified of the crime. The lawsuits were filed by Herman Law under the Child Victims Act. According to Reviewer, Archdiocese of New York now ‘abuser-free,’

New York, NY (New York Post) The cost of settling with victims of its perverted clergymen has ballooned to more than $67 million, but the Archdiocese of New York no longer has any priests or deacons with substantiated claims of abusing minors against them, an outside reviewer announced on Monday. Bright Horizon Daycare Worker Charged With Sexually Abusing Second Child

BERN TOWNSHIP, PA (The Mercury) A 33-year-old Columbia County man is facing charges after two children reported they were sexually abused at a day care center in Bern Township, authorities said. BERN TOWNSHIP, PA (Reading Eagle) – A day care worker was arrested Friday on charges of indecent assault against a 4-year-old boy at a facility in Bern Township. Daycare Teacher in St. Clair County Charged With Sexually Abusing Child at Early Learning Center

MARGARET, Ala. (WBRC) – A 19-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a child has turned himself in to St. Clair County deputies. Austin Greenway, of Odenville, has been charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 and school employee engaged in a sex act with a student under the age of 19.
