Non Profit Health Organization that helps intellectually disabled children accused of sex abuse spanning decades

  A Philadelphia facilities that helps children with intellectual disabilities, operated by a nonprofit health organization, has been accused of allowing at least 40 children with intellectual disabilities to be sexually abused over a period of 25 years. The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health facilities allegedly knew about the abuse and did not make any changes to remedy the issue. Devereux, which is headquartered near Philadelphia, treats children with intellectual disabilities, mental disorders and trauma. Alabama Department of Human Resources named in lawsuit where couple allegedly sexually abused foster care children

Jenise and Daniel Spurgeon, a foster care couple from Cape Coral, have been named in at least 3 lawsuits accusing them of sexual abuse, rape, torture and human trafficking of children that were under their foster care. The couple have been accused of sexually abusing at least 15 children. Each of the victims were female and are  seeking $25 Million in damages. Foster care father who sexually abused child gets prison term

  Brillingston Ulloa, 54, from  Minier, has been charged with a seven-year prison term for sexually abusing a child while she was in foster care in his home. The victim was a teenager when the abuse began and continued throughout most of her teen years.  Ulloa was charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a family member under the age of 18. 16 cases of child sex abuse by catholic priests spanning 70 years uncovered in Japan

     The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan recenty discovered cases of sexual abuse against minors spanning 70 years. Tokyo confernece discoverd in its internal probe of churches  that from the 1950s to the 2010s  16 cases of sex abuse. SInce last May, the Tokyo-based organization has been investigating all its convents and dioceses and encouraged people to come forward with reports of sexual abuse regardless of when it occurred. $25 Million lawsuit filed against Alabama Department of Resources and Foster parents in sex abuse case

This week four foster children sued their foster care system for $25 million in damages against their foster care parents as well as the Alabama Department of Human Resources. The suit claims that the the Department of Human Resources and the Lauderdale County failed to take action against the foster parents , Jenise and Daniel Spurgeon. For decades, some Foster Care Children were sent out of state and sexually abused by employees at the facilities.

    For years child welfare officials have sent thousands of foster care children to different states than their hometowns to facilities such as mental institutions, where they were beaten and sexually assaulted  by workers and other residents.    Children as young as 7 were sent to different states like California, Michigan, Ohio and Utah.
