A scathing Pennsylvania grand jury report released Tuesday reveals decades of child abuse allegations against more than 300 accused “predator priests” as well as claims that Roman Catholic Church leaders covered up the crimes and obstructed justice in order to avoid scandal. Pa. Supreme Court blocks release of grand jury report into clergy sex abuse

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The state Supreme Court has blocked the release of grand jury report into child sex abuse allegations in six Catholic dioceses. Two priests suspended amid probe of sexual abuse allegations

Two Buffalo-area priests were put on leave this past weekend as the Diocese of Buffalo investigates complaints of childhood sexual abuse. Bishop Richard J. Malone suspended the Rev. Samuel J. Venne and the Rev. Arthur S. Smith from ministry due to allegations that the priests behaved inappropriately with minors. Venne, who is retired, regularly celebrated Masses at St. Stephen Church on Grand Island. His administrative leave was announced to parishioners at Masses this past weekend. A Tennessee Pastor Indicted on 47 Charges Related to Child Sex Abuse

COVINGTON, Tenn. — A Tennessee pastor has been indicted on 47 charges related to sexual abuse of minors. Tipton County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Billy Daugherty told WREG-TV in Memphis that 39-year-old Ronnie Gorton has been accused by three people, including one under the age of 13. Fundamentalists Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sued for Sexual Abuse of Minors

Salt Lake City, UT – Fundamentalists Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS) is accused of sexual “religious rituals” with underage girls in court documents filed this week.  The documents state that leaders of FLDS would watch, tape and participate in the sexual rituals with underage girls between the ages of 8 and 14.  According to the article on the ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City, these victims were the children of church members, members who were told the rituals were meant, “to accomplish this doctrinal goal of the FLDS Church to raise up good priesthood children.”  Within the […]

Former Virginia Beach Youth Pastor Sentenced for Sexual Assault

Virginia Beach, VA – Jeffrey Bondi, a former youth pastor at Galilee Episcopal Church, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for felony sexual penetration. The victim, now 34-year-old Margaret Anne Viola, reported Bondi sexually assaulted her when she was 18.  Viola knew Bondi from her church and was asked to babysit his children.  According to the Virginian-Pilot, Bondi returned home that evening, laid down by Viola on the couch, touched her and penetrated her with his fingers.
