Child sex abuse lawsuit filed against Lake Alfred daycare, Miss Meekas Enrichment Center
FEB. 19, 2013—Jeff Herman, a nationally recognized attorney for victims of sexual abuse, filed a lawsuit against MISS MEEKAS ENRICHMENT CENTER for the sexual abuse of a three-year-old girl, identified in the suit as JANE DOE.
According to the Complaint:
- JANE DOE began attending daycare at MISS MEEKAS ENRICHMENT CENTER on approximately October 15, 2012, when she was three years old.
- On or about October 25, 2012, JANE DOE was molested and otherwise touched in a sexually inappropriate manner, including her vaginal area, while she was on the premises of the daycare during normal hours of business.
- Upon information and belief, MISS MEEKA failed to supervise the children in its care, including JANE DOE.
- MISS MEEKA has had a history of non-compliance with safety regulations promulgated by the Florida Department of Children & Families, which reflects a pattern of disregard for child safety and the grave consequences of failing to follow these safety rules.
“This is every parent’s worst nightmare,” said Jane Doe’s attorney, Jeff Herman, “Daycare is supposed to be a place where parents can trust that their children will be cared for and protected from harm.”
Jane Doe No. 31 v. Sherrick L. Forrester and Michael Q. Forrester d/b/a MISS MEEKAS ENRICHMENT CENTER was filed in Polk County Court on February 14th, 2013.
