Attorney Jeff Herman announced the filing of a new lawsuit against social networking site BlackPlanet.com after his client says she was drugged and raped by 2 men she met through the site after they lured the young model to South Florida with the promise of a commercial audition, and who later sold videos of the rape for profit.  Her alleged assailants are under federal indictment for doing the same thing to several other young women in the Miami area.

Herman, Mermelstein & Horowitz, P.A. has filed a new lawsuit against the Diocese of Orlando alleging that Father Lawrence Redmond sexually abused a young boy at Camp San Pedro, a sleepaway camp for children.  Click here to read the Orlando Sentinel story on the new lawsuit.

Today, the judge presiding over the criminal prosecution of multiple high-ranking Archdiocese of Philadelphia officials accused of covering up allegations of child sexual abuse by priest ruled that former Archbishop Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua could be examined for competency to testify as to his own role in the scheme.  In 2009, our attorneys attempted to depose Cardinal Bevilacqua in a civil case arising from child seuxal abuse by a priest Cardinal Bevilacqua supervised in the Diocese of Brooklyn.  The case settled not long after we informed the Diocese's attorneys that Cardinal Bevilacqua would be deposed.
