The Special Investigative Unit at Herman Law is a team of former special agents, criminal investigators, military special forces, homicide detectives, and law enforcement officers whose sole responsibility is investigating and discovering evidence for Herman Law clients. The team has over 50 combined years of former law enforcement experience and received awards and accolades during their time with law enforcement such as “Dade County Top Cop”, ATF Agent of the Year, and the United States Attorney Office Outstanding Law Enforcement of the Year Award.
The Special Investigative Unit is lead by John Berenna, a former homicide detective with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for 24 years. During his time as a detective, Berenna was featured on A&E’s “The First 48”. Prior to his time as a homicide detective, Berenna spent 3 years with the DEA and 7 years in military service.
With their experience, skill, and network, the Special Investigative Unit is a unique, advantageous, and integral part of Herman Law’s mission to provide justice for survivors of sexual abuse.
