Lee Gill Cohen brings over 25 years of legal experience to Herman Law.
For 22 years, Lee served as a prosecutor at the Office of the State Attorney in Broward County and tried over 100 jury trials, ranging from theft to murder. He spent his last 16 years at the prosecutor’s office as the Chief Assistant of the County Court/DUI Division, supervising 48 attorneys and support staff.
In 2011, Lee went into private practice at a Fort Lauderdale law firm, where he practiced general civil litigation and concentrated in the areas of crime victim representation and personal injury.
Over the course of his career, Lee has been repeatedly recognized for his victim advocacy and his efforts to combat drunk driving. He has drafted and testified before the Florida Legislature various pieces of legislation in the areas of elderly abuse and exploitation and driving under the influence and he continues to lecture and author educational resources for law enforcement and prosecutors.
Lee Gill Cohen received his Juris Doctorate from University of Miami School of Law in 1989. He is a member of the Broward Crime Commission Associate Advisory Board, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Advisory Board, American Association for Justice, Florida Justice Association, Broward Justice Association, and National Crime Victim Bar Association.
